Mfafa Safaris Rebrand

When a client approaches you to update a brand identity that has served them faithfully for over thirty years, the task is as thrilling as it is daunting. Mfafa Safaris had built decades of history around their original emblem, carrying strong emotional resonance and fond memories. Recognising that it was time to evolve while still honouring that deep heritage required a delicate balance, thoughtful exploration, and close collaboration.

The turning point in the redesign came directly from the client. After exploring various ideas and creative directions, we rallied around an original sketch by Tiffany featuring the intricate form of a pangolin. Working from this inspiration, we developed a sophisticated, stylised emblem paired with a refined palette drawn straight from the African wilderness—soft olive greens, warm ochres, and muted earth tones. Combined with clean, modern typography that proudly nods to their origin in 1992, the new logo balances contemporary design with timeless safari authenticity.

With the brand mark settled, our focus shifted to their digital presence. Tiffany envisioned something distinctly different from standard cookie-cutter safari sites. To allow the team space to refine their vision without losing momentum, we initially launched a temporary landing page. Once the final concept was chosen, we built a bespoke website tailored around their detailed creative brief.

The result is a striking, intuitive web platform at www.mfafa.africa, immersed in rich bushveld tones that evoke the natural warmth of the Lowveld. Every detail, from the visual hierarchy to the smooth guest navigation, was designed to reflect the quality and passion of the Mfafa experience.

Reimagining a brand with three decades of history is a journey that takes time, care, and trust, but seeing the final result makes every step well worth the wait. It has been a real pleasure working alongside Tiffany, Anne, and the entire team at Mfafa Safaris on this milestone project, and we wish them continued success as they share this new chapter with the world.
